Faith Obtains the Promises of God; Unbelief Forfeits Them!

FAITH OBTAINS THE PROMISES OF GOD; UNBELIEF FORFEITS THEM!

Good Morning My Loves,

Have you ever seen someone who was once on fire for God become so filled with “doubt and unbelief” that they stop following Jesus? I have, and it’s sad to see what they “forfeit” when their hearts become hardened through sin. The devil fools them into following the world’s ways, and before long they have “no rest” and their lives are a mess.

This is a picture of what happened to the majority of those who came out of Egypt (the world) and followed Moses through the wilderness. They had been promised a land flowing with milk and honey, a land where they would find rest, great and “rich” cities that they did not build, homes filled with good things, and a good life. Yet, they still had so much “world” in them, that they never saw the promise land that their ancestors Abraham, Issac, and Jacob saw. Deuteronomy 6:10-11(ERV)

10 “The Lord your God made a promise to your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He promised to give you this land, and he will give it to you. He will give you great and rich cities that you did not build. 11 He will give you houses full of good things that you did not put there. He will give you wells that you did not dig. He will give you vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant, and you will have plenty to eat. (You’ll be FULL, SATISFIED, and HAVE REST) What a promise! But most never took hold of it because of unbelief. -By faith Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob possessed the land of promise.

Hebrews 11:9 (ERV)

9 Abraham lived in the country that God promised to give him. He lived there like a visitor who did not belong. He did this because he had faith. He lived in tents with Isaac and Jacob, who also received the same promise from God.

-Because of unbelief, neither Aaron, nor Moses, nor Miriam got there!

Hebrews 3:12-18 (ERV)

12 So, brothers and sisters, be careful that none of you has the evil thoughts that cause so much doubt that you stop following the living God. 13 But encourage each other every day, while you still have something called “today” (now, while there is still opportunity). Help each other so that none of you will be fooled by sin and become too hard to change. 14 We have the honor of sharing in all that Christ has if we continue until the end to have the sure faith we had in the beginning. 15 That’s why the Spirit said,

“If you hear God’s voice today,

don’t be stubborn as in the past

when you turned against God.”

16 Who were those who heard God’s voice and turned against him? It was all the people Moses led out of Egypt. 17 And who was God angry with for 40 years? He was angry with those who sinned. And their dead bodies were left in the desert. 18 And which people was God talking to when he promised that they would never enter his place of rest? He was talking to those who did not obey him.

Let’s stay in faith. Let’s allow the Lord to keep changing us from the inside out. Let’s not follow the world’s ways or allow so much doubt to come into our heart that we stop following Jesus Christ, the Living God.

Romans 12:2 says, Don’t change yourselves to be like the people of this world, but let God change you inside with a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to understand and accept what God wants for you. You will be able to know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect. (ERV)

Many of you are about to receive by faith what many people forfeited through doubt and unbelief. -Faith obtains the promises of God; Unbelief forfeits them!

Hold on by FAITH, you’re not only going to receive what God promised you, but you’re going to receive more than you could ever ask or think!

I love you all! PV
