The Gift of Discerning of Spirits, and Testing the Spirits, Will Play a Vital Role in Taking New Ter

Good Morning My Loves, Have you seen the “811” campaign by Pacific Gas & Electric, with the slogan “Call Before You Dig!?” For the past few days, this warning has been popping up everywhere I go. I saw it on a truck bumper on Sunday afternoon. I saw it at the grocery store, the gas station, and this morning it popped up in my e-mail.

It’s a “warning campaign” to alert people to the dangers of natural gas lines that lie below the ground surface. It’s a plea from the PG&E to protect your family and property from what lies below the surface. The company provides “free” service calls to come out and mark the areas where gas lines are, so that people don’t start digging and break a gas line, causing an explosion or leak that brings harm and destruction.

I don’t always spiritualize these kinds of things, but I sensed that God was speaking to me through these repeated warnings. I began to pray into it, and He said, “I’m bringing My people into a new season where the gift of discerning of spirits and understanding spiritual warfare will play a vital part in taking new territory for My Kingdom. The message of spiritual warfare has been attacked, and many have set down their armor. There are dangers lurking that most are unaware of because they don’t know how to detect it. Just because they don’t see the demonic realm with their natural eyes (like natural gas), that doesn’t mean it’s not present and deadly! My people must begin to “CALL UPON ME BEFORE THEY BEGIN TO MOVE FORWARD, and I will show them where the dangers lie so they will not be destroyed.” Here is an actual set of instructions from PG&E on how to detect an invisible but deadly threat (gas leakage) with the natural senses. It parallels the gift of discerning of spirits to the “T!”

(Nose)-Smell: for a “rotten egg” odor.

(Ears) Listen: for hissing, whistling or roaring sounds coming from underground or from a gas appliance.

(Eyes) Look: for dirt spraying in the air, continual bubbling in a pond or creek, and dying vegetation in an otherwise moist area.

When demonic or unclean spirits are present, you’ll be able to detect them with your natural senses if you know how to do so. It’s not rocket science. A person who operates in the gift of discerning of spirits can detect them through all of the natural senses, BUT EVEN THOSE WITHOUT THE GIFT OF DISCERNING OF SPIRITS CAN RECOGNIZE THEM BY: -The continual bubbling up of chaos and strife

-Dying relationships, withering spiritual lives, EVEN IN A PLACE WHERE THE RIVER OF GOD IS PRESENT!

My beloved, not everyone who says they are a prophet is operating under the Spirit of God. Let me clarify, I believe in prophesy. I prophesy, and receive prophetic words from the Lord, both personally, and through those I trust. They have been a great source of encouragement, and have brought clear direction from the Lord on many occasions. I also honor God’s established prophets, and we have some very credible ones in this generation. We need the prophetic Word of the Lord, being released through His true prophets to continue. However, we must learn to test the spirits to see if they be of God. They may look good on the outside, but you don’t always know what lies beneath the surface. We must pray and call on the Lord, and allow Him to reveal the truth of what lies below the surface, or we put ourselves in great danger!

Jesus said, "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and they will provide great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect (God’s chosen ones). 25 Listen carefully, I have told you in advance." (Matthew 24:25)

Beloved, do not believe every spirit [speaking through a self-proclaimed prophet]; instead test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets and teachers have gone out into the world. (1 John 4:1)

Notice, they are “self proclaimed,” and they have “gone out.” They have not been endorsed or sent by God’s established authority. They endorse themselves and go without any spiritual covering. They speak from their soul and human presumption. The spirits they are in agreement with “speak through them.” This is nothing new. It was happening in Jeremiah’s day! Jeremiah 14:14 (AMP)

14 Then the Lord said to me, “The [counterfeit] prophets are prophesying lies in My Name. I have neither sent them nor authorized them nor spoken to them. They are prophesying to you made-up visions [pretending to call forth responses from handmade gods], a worthless divination and the deceit of their own mind.

-Notice, they are using the “Name of Jesus.” Not everyone who drops the name of Jesus, and says He is their Lord, is submitted to Jesus “as” Lord! Jesus said, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me on that day [when I judge them], ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, and driven out demons in Your name, and done many miracles in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them publicly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me [you are banished from My presence], you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands].’ (Matthew 7:21-23)

-They are not “sent ones,” they are the “went ones.”

-They are not under His authority (not authorized), and they aren’t listening to God’s voice. -They are basically “makin’ stuff up!” They’re flat out lying and operating in witchcraft. They are deceived, and giving you what’s on their own mind, NOT THE MIND AND HEART OF GOD!

We must always check everything that comes from a prophet’s mouth, by the plumb-line of God’s Word. If it doesn’t line up with Scripture, we must not let it leak out into our lives and ministries. It’s like that natural gas that lies below the surface. It’s toxic and will end up exploding or silently killing everything it comes in contact with. God is calling us to a greater level of discernment in this season. This requires a greater connection (CALL BEFORE YOU DIG) with Him in prayer, and an understanding of His instructions! Let’s not be caught unaware. There is an “811” line being extended to us in the Spirit. It’s not a new campaign. It’s something we should’ve been using all along, and using it in this season IS NOT OPTIONAL! I love you all! PV
