IN THE WORDS OF MAMA CHALK, “HONEY, DON’T BE A FOOL!”

Good Morning My Loves, I was sitting in the airport with Mama Chalk one afternoon in 2005 awaiting her flight home to Tennessee, and a young man walked by wearing a shirt that said, “THERE IS NO GOD!” Mama read it, and said with the sweetest southern drawl “Honey, that young man’s shirt should say, “I’M THE ULTIMATE FOOL!” She looked at me with tears in her eyes and said, “The fool saith in his heart, There is no God!” Mama always talked in King James language, because she ONLY read King James! LOL However, her concern over this young man’s soul was obvious, and I watched as she began audibly praying in tongues right there in the airport, interceding for his soul. I lovingly patted her hand, joined with her in her prayer for the lost fool’s life, and then said to her when she finished, “You are such a good person Mama.” She looked at me with those same tears in her eyes and said, “THERE IS NONE GOOD, NO NOT ONE, EXCEPT GOD!” Mark 10:18 (KJV)

18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

I realized that Mama took the word of God seriously. She led every person she met toward Jesus. She was one of the sweetest persons that you ever met, but she didn’t mince words when it came to your soul. Like David, she said it like it is: Psalm 14 (KJV)

14 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Romans 3:23 (KJV)

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

The truth is that ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and we ALL need the perfect Savior Jesus Christ! On this April Fools Day, let’s make sure that we are not the ULTIMATE FOOL! Let’s be WISE and acknowledge Jesus as Lord! Truly, what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul? Why would anyone choose eternal death, when Jesus came to give them the gift of eternal life? That, my friends, is “THE ULTIMATE FOOL!” Mark 8:36 (KJV)

36 For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Romans 6:23 (KJV)

23 For the wages of sin is death; but (PAY ATTENTION TO THE “BUT” BECAUE IT INDICATES THE MOST IMPORTANT CHOICE YOU’LL EVER MAKE! IT HAS ETERNAL CONSEQUENCES!) the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Why would anyone choose eternal death, when Jesus came to give them the gift of life? That is why my Mama called that young man “THE ULTIMATE FOOL!” DON’T BE A FOOL! BE WISE! The wise repent of their sins, accept the love and grace of God, and confess Jesus as Lord! Then, they share the good news of the gospel with others. Romans 10:9 (KJV)

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
