Embrace the Truth and Power of "I CAN!"

Good Morning My Loves, I was looking for a graphic this morning for my sermon “Overcoming Adversity” and I saw a picture of someone holding up the words “I Can’t.” However they had a pair of scissors in the other hand and they were cutting the “’t” off the word “can’t” leaving the phrase, “I Can!” Immediately one of my favorite scriptures for overcoming adversity came to mind. I love Philippians 4:13 in the Amplified Version, as it always infuses me with great strength! I challenge you read this OUT LOUD right now as a declaration of what you CAN DO! 13 I can do all things [which He has called me to do] through Him who strengthens and empowers me [to fulfill His purpose—I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency; I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him who infuses me with inner strength and confident peace.] My beloved, sometimes the devil will lie to us so aggressively that if we don’t bind up his lies and replace them with the truth, we will “think” ourselves right out of the action necessary to overcome the adversity he brings, and let go of our dreams. Successful people don’t do that. They have an inner strength and confident peace that comes from the Lord, regardless of what the enemy throws at them. They’ve learned to embrace the truth and power of “I CAN," and here's the way they speak to themselves. I encourage you to also speak these out loud!

1. I CAN DO WHAT GOD HAS CALLED ME TO DO! I will not allow myself to become frozen by fear, or to stay in my comfort zone. I will step out and take action daily to see my dream come true. I will find a way to overcome every obstacle along the way. I am an overcomer, not someone who is overcome!

2. I CAN BELIEVE IN MYSELF AND USE THE GIFTS THAT GOD GAVE ME TO FULFILL MY DESTINY. God believed in me so much that he gave me these gifts, and this vision-dream. He continues to believe in me. So it doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks. If God is for me, who can be against me! I will not be one of those who are against me. I join God’s side, and I am for myself and my vision-dream 100%!

3. I CAN TAKE OWNERSHIP OF MY VISION-DREAM AND MAINTAIN THE FOCUS AND STRENGTH NECESSARY TO SEE IT FULFILLED. We all get knocked down from time to time. However, champions get up and set their eyes on their end goal, face their challenges, and forge forward. They learn from their mistakes and become stronger. They don’t spend time rehearsing their failures, but talk about what they’ve done right and how they’re are going to use the lessons they’ve learned to NOT repeat their mistakes again. They see adversity as an OPPORTUNITY to learn and grow! I too am this kind of champion, and I have what it takes to succeed.

4. I CAN HANDLE-OWN MY SUCCESS, REMAIN HUMBLE, AND BRING GOD GREAT GLORY! It’s alright with God for me to be great, brilliant, and excellent at what I do. He put greatness on the inside of me, and when I shine, I bring great glory to Him. I will stay humble, but won’t be afraid to SHINE FOR JESUS!

Take the "'t" off of can't. YOU CAN!

I love you all! PV
