The Holy Spirit is Not Only God, Not Only A Person, but He is a Safe and Strong Place!

Good Morning My Loves, We all need a “safe place” to go when trouble comes. I’ve heard many people say, “My best friend is my “safe place” to process and find comfort when I’m going through a difficult situation.” They are speaking of their earthly friends, and that may be true. If you have a “true”

friend like that, you are definitely blessed:-).

Last Sunday I said something in my sermon on the Holy Spirit called, “You’ve Got a Friend,” that has been reverberating in my spirit. What I said was, “The Holy Spirit is not only your best Friend, your constant Helper, but He’s the “safest place” to process your pain, and share the deepest things of your heart. Not everyone can be trusted with your heart, but He can.”

The Holy Spirit is not only God, not only a Person, but HE IS A “SAFE AND STRONG PLACE!”

In my quiet time with the Lord this morning, I began meditating on Psalm 46 in multiple versions. This Psalm in the NLV perfectly describes how God is “with us,” and our “safe and strong place” from the external adversity that inevitably comes into our life. Psalm 46 (NLV)

God Is with Us

1 God is our safe place and our strength. He is always our help when we are in trouble. 2 So we will not be afraid, even if the earth is shaken and the mountains fall into the center of the sea, 3 and even if its waters go wild with storm and the mountains shake with its action.

4 There is a river whose waters make glad…(now I wanna stop and preach right here!!! When you step into the river of God's presence, it doesn't matter what is going on around you. Your heart becomes glad! He restores your joy…) the city of God, the holy place where the Most High lives. 5 God is in the center of her. She will not be moved. God will help her when the morning comes. 6 The people made noise. The nations fell. He raised His voice and the earth melted. 7 The Lord of All is with us. The God of Jacob is our strong place.

8 Come and see the works of the Lord. He has destroyed parts of the earth. 9 He stops wars to the ends of the earth. He breaks the bow and cuts the spear in two. He burns the war-wagons with fire. 10 Be quiet and know that I am God. I will be honored among the nations. I will be honored in the earth. 11 The Lord of All is with us. The God of Jacob is our strong place.

My beloved, I’ve learned that the safest place in the universe is the presence of God. The Amplified says, “God is our refuge and strength [mighty and impenetrable], A very present and well-proved help in trouble.”

When we are in the “presence” of the Holy Spirit, He is not distracted by the demands of running the universe. He is not checked out and falling asleep, because He never sleeps nor slumbers. He is not on His cell phone checking Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.. He is “present.” He is fully engaged. He stands by in “active readiness,” simply waiting to respond to your heart cries. What you tell Him, will not be gossiped about all over the universe either. It will get handled, and it will remain confidential. What a Friend. What a Safe Place. Whatever you are facing today, remember “You’ve got a God that is “with you.” He is “present.” He is Mighty and impenetrable. The devil can’t touch you when you are in His presence. Run into your “safe and strong” place today. Worship Him. Sing in the Spirit. Pray in the Spirit, and let Him strengthen your heart!
